Justification for Using this Tool
Justification 1 - Constructivist Learning
Justification 1 - Constructivist Learning
- Soundtrap offers users the ability to co-create authentic projects through use of its Digital Audio Workstation (DAW). Users create podcasts, dialogues, music, or other soundbites relevant to their educational contexts.
- Soundtrap provides the ability or affordances to be able to collaborate on projects either synchronously or asynchronously and has incorporated a multi-user function that makes use of text messaging, or live video chatting. Groups can work together on projects, responding to their part of the dialogue or adding their music/beats, and also discuss the project without having to leave the platform.
- Soundtrap works well as a basis for creating podcasts for groups involved in Problem Based Learning (PBL). Interviews or podcasts can be created to facilitate discussion on a problem identified by the learners, or as a reflection tool for the group to process the impact of their PBL group work. Podcasts can easily be exported and shared, enabling further discussion and multiple solutions or ideas for the original problem.
